Ottawa killed cellphone cost calculator
The evil convervative government has bowed down to evil lobbyists and scapped the project to create a cellphone cost calculator to help people from getting ripped off by Canada’s corrupt cell phone companies.
It’s so bad you don’t have much of a “real” choice. They all illegally charge the system access fee, except for their daughter companies. Bell owns Solo, Telus owns Koodo, Rogers owns Fido. Virgin is the only real new company to come out of this (from the states actually) in the last decade. All of these daughter companies seem to be a place where the parent company dumps it’s shitty phones too.
With so little choice, Rogers, Bell and Telus seem to have a monopoly on shittiness compared to the rest of the modern world. Even India has better wireless services, rates, and options. A third world country you say as better technology? WTF. It’s just like the shitty internet that only Rogers and Bell provide if you need high speed in the GTA.
